The Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center strengthens the Virginia Adult Education and Literacy System through professional development, resources, communication, and collaborative projects. Resources
  • Find adult education and literacy resources in our library catalog. Follow the convenient check out and return procedures using the mail.
  • Look for teacher-made materials in our resource file and call to have a copy of the materials mailed to you.
  • Find locally developed resources on a variety of topics by browsing our publications.
  • Visit the Literacy Resources sections of this website for state and national resources and information.
  • Call or email the Resource Center to request a Resource Table at your event or in-service.

  • Need information about adult education and literacy providers, instructional issues, or resources? Send an email to our Help Desk or call them at 1-800-237-0178. The Desk is staffed from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Collaborative Projects
  • The Literacy Support Center provides training and technical assistance for Community-Based Literacy Organizations through a partnership with the Virginia Literacy Foundation. Organizations can apply for workshops in their area by using this form in Word format or pdf format.
  • The GED Initiative provides GED information and assistance for educators and the general public.
  • Workplace Essential Skills and GED Connection are comprehensive, interactive multimedia learning systems available in Virginia through a five-year state license.
