New Teacher Orientation ProgramWhat are the benefits of the program?The Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center's year-round orientation program is especially for new adult education and ESOL teachers. The goal is to make sure that new teachers get the help they need when and where they need it. Through the program, new teachers receive:
Who is eligible?New Adult Education and ESOL teachers, hired since September 1, 2003. To participate, teachers must work in Virginia and have an email address that they can use on a regular basis. (This program is not designed to provide the training required for new volunteer literacy tutors. Literacy organizations should contact Victoire Gerkens Sanborn at the Literacy Support Center for assistance.) How do I register?Only program managers/instructional specialists, or their designees, can use the online form to register new teachers for this program. Use the forms below to register: After the registration is submitted, the teacher will receive a welcome email message.
