Vicky manages the Literacy Support Center, a project funded by the Virginia Literacy Foundation, the Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center, and Virginia Commonwealth University. Her responsibilities include providing Virginia's community-based literacy organizations with technical, professional development, and program development support. She sends literacy program directors and managers news from the field and about each other and keeps them abreast of the latest research, information, and best practices in the non-profit world.

Since 1988, Vicky has worked with community-based literacy organizations as a tutor, tutor trainer, follow-up coordinator, recruiter, publicist, and community relations director. She also enjoyed a ten-year career as a watercolorist, exhibiting her paintings in the Charlottesville area and at The Torpedo Factory in Alexandria. She likes to relax in her hot tub with a good book, a nice hot toddy, and her faithful Toodle* by her side.

* Toodle: A Terrier/Poodle. Nothing but trouble. Stubborn, outrageous, and fiercely loyal. A "big" dog stuck in a tiny body. Loves grapes, strawberries, bananas, apples, oranges, cashews, peanuts, salad with lots of dressing, and other expensive people food. Cannot stand competition.
