Who may check out materials?

Any adult education and literacy practitioner in the state of Virginia may borrow materials from the VALRC Library.

Checking out materials

To check out materials from the library, you can:

1. Send us an email with your requested titles.
2. Call (800)237-0178 during our office hours:
   Monday-Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm EST.
3. Fax your list of requested titles to (804)828-7539.

(Be sure to include your name, shipping address, and telephone number.)

You may also visit the VALRC Library in person. We are located at:

Materials will be shipped to you via UPS. Your only cost will be the return postage. You may keep borrowed materials for six weeks. After six weeks, you may renew the loan for an additional six weeks unless another patron has requested the material.

Returning materials

To return borrowed materials, you may:

1. Mail them back.
   • Replace the materials in the box or envelope they came in.
   • Seal it up.
   • Attach the (supplied) return label.
   • Take the package to the post office and mail it.
2. Bring them in.

   The VALRC Library is open Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:30.

   If we are not in, leave the books in the drop box on the door of the Library, room 4080.

3. Give them to someone who is going to Richmond.

   Staff from the Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center are happy to bring your books in. Find us at conferences, workshops, trainings, or meetings.

   Ask a friend, colleague, program manager, or regional specialist on their way to Richmond to stop off at the Resource Center and return your books for you.
