ESOL Summer Institute - Tidewater
Williamsburg, VA
- ESOL practitioners with less than two years experience
- Program managers & administrators new to ESOL
The Tidewater Institute will be held from noon on Monday, July 25th until noon Tuesday, July 26. Two content strands will be available: New ESOL Practitioner and New ESOL Program Manager. All participants should select one of these stands when registering. A packet of pre-institute readings will be mailed to participants according to the strand chosen. Because time will be limited, the institute will be jam-packed with content, instructional activities, and a special dinner and evening session with guest speaker Linda Grant, author of Well-Said: Pronunciation for Clear Communication. You will be part of a cohort that will explore the issues related to your selected strand. All participants will leave the institute with a wealth of resource materials, as well as copies of either the new Practitioner Toolkit: Working with Adult English Language Learners by NCFL and NCLE or T.E.S.O.L.'s Standards for Adult Education ESL Programs.
