ESL Basics Online

This course is designed for the instructor who has just begun to teach ESL to adult learners and would like to learn the basics of language teaching. ESL Basics Online will present the characteristics of adult ESL learners, the basics of language teaching methodology, and integrated lesson planning. The course uses a number of ESL resources on the World Wide Web and helps course participants to become more confident in using the Internet as a medium for education.

Lessons are posted each week for a period of eight weeks. Each lesson addresses a topic in teaching English to adults. Course activities include readings, assignments, and discussions. The lessons are sequential. The schedule below lists the dates that assignments are due. Posts to discussions should be made during the period that the lesson topic is being presented.
